Leave Management

This is HR's side of leave approval: the final step after a line manager has already reviewed a request. Testing Hub currently has 6 leave requests in the queue, all submitted by one employee (Ben) and all still sitting with his line manager (Junior), so none of them have reached HR yet.

How a request gets here

A leave request starts at Pending (LM): the employee's line manager reviews it first. Approving it there doesn't finish the request, it moves the status to Pending (HR) and lands on this page for a second, final approval. Only requests that have reached Pending (HR) can actually be approved or rejected from here; anything still at Pending (LM), like all 6 of Ben's current requests, only offers View Details from this page.

Review a request's full details

Open a request's row menu and click View Details to see everything the employee submitted: leave type, duration, start and end dates, their reason, who's covering for them, whether a colleague was informed, and any handover notes, including an attached file if one was uploaded. One of Ben's requests, a 1-day Annual Leave request starting August 13, has a handover document attached and names Mensah Benjamin as covering staff.

Approve or reject

1
Once a request reaches Pending (HR), click Approve to close it out, or Reject and give a reason.
2
An approval updates the employee's leave balance automatically. The employee is notified either way.

Export the queue

Use CSV, Excel, or PDF to export the current list of requests.

A rejection at either stage ends it

A line manager's rejection never reaches HR: it closes the request at that stage. The same two-tier pattern applies to Salary Advance Approval.
